No this isn’t the Instant Goddess’ personal clothes mountain when she’s had a good spring clean! It is in fact, a work of art; by French artist Christian Boltanski, entitled ‘No Man’s Land’ and composed of 30 tons of discarded clothing. Alarming, and thought provoking.

Art aside, if you have days where you just feel like chucking the entire contents of your wardrobe out and starting again, or you feel your wardrobe is like a black hole where things enter never to be seen again, or the wardrobe is jam-packed but you still have nothing to wear, or your clothes are so disorganised that you’ve forgotten about what you actually own and what suits you… then maybe it’s time to call in the professionals for a wardrobe edit.

Instant Goddess has just the professionals for you! Make My Wardrobe Work is a Hong Kong-based wardrobe editing service designed to make every woman look fabulous and feel proud of her wardrobe regardless of size, shape or budget. Make My Wardrobe Work is the brainchild of Brit mama Sheryl Bolden, whose fashion credentials speak volumes, with over 12 years’ experience in fashion retailing, delivering catwalk looks to some of the UK’s biggest and best high street brands and transforming designer inspirations into clothes real women want to wear.

Sheryl definitely has a fashion trick or two up her sleeve, but most importantly she’s keen to share! At the end of one of her sessions, you’ll feel empowered – unruly wardrobes will be back under control; you’ll have a better understanding of your body shape and what suits you best, and you will have rediscovered or reinvented your style groove. Sheryl’s a firm believer that fashion is for everyone… “Shopping for clothes should be fun, not feared” is her mantra and Instant Goddess couldn’t agree more!

Photo 3You can either choose to be edited, transformed or re-invented – what will you opt for?

The Edit costs $1600, and over 2 hours in the comfort of your own home your clothes will be edited, weeding out the items that no longer work for you. Tips on how to dress to flatter your figure will ensure you get the best out of what you already own, while at the same time identifying any wardrobe gaps for future shopping trips. Through restyling and simple alterations you’ll be amazed at the wonderful new outfit ideas Sheryl comes up with. Post-session you receive a personalised summary, plus photos of those great outfits for easy reference. The Edit will leave you organised, de-cluttered and super-stylish – what more could an Instant Goddess ask for?

The Transformation at $1975 is a more comprehensive overhaul. All the elements of The Edit is included, but the session time is extended to 3 hours plus a phone consultation beforehand to get a deeper understanding of your lifestyle and requirements. Tips will be given on accessorising to add interest and individualism to the way you dress while keeping true to your personal style. Post session you not only receive the personalised summary plus outfit photos, but a bespoke shopping list with email links specially tailored to address any wardrobe gaps.

The Reinvention is the big one! At $3500, this is definitely a serious investment in your wardrobe, but this could well be the Instant Goddess’ favourite… I love stuff like this! This complete package offers a total overhaul of your current look over a number of days. It will leave you totally transformed and inspired. Everything from the previous packages is included, plus your clothes will be beautifully hung on wooden hangers and you will be sent a CD with all the images from the session, edited for ease of reference. The packages also includes a follow-up shopping trip to pre-selected stores with your style, budget and personalised shopping summary in mind. The aim is to give you the ability to shop with confidence, highlighting different styles and fabrics that not only suit you but also compliment your existing clothes. You’ll also visit a professional make-up artist who will give your make-up bag a makeover, as well as offering tips and tricks on how to best apply the products you already own, offering advice on what products to invest in to complement and enhance what you already have, or even give you a whole new look.

So what are you waiting for? Chase those moths out of the wardrobe once and for all and by giving Sheryl a call on 9166 2711 or email [email protected]. Find out more at the Make My Wardrobe Work website or on Facebook.

Midweek Meal Inspiration

This week it’s oh-so simple Garlic Chilli Prawns from taste.com.au who know a thing or two about food. You can whip this up in a jiffy for lunch or dinner. The prawns are pan-fried in chilli and finished with lemon and coriander to make a spicy but refreshing meal that’s ready in 10 minutes. Take out the bread and add more leaves to make it lower cal if you like.
