Until just this year, Hong Kong was lacking a truly traditional New York-style steakhouse. Thankfully, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse has solved that problem. Launched by Wolfgang Zwiener, you can be sure the quality and authentic flavour is the highest. Using only USDA prime beef, which has been dry-aged on site for an average of 28 days (it has its own dry-aging room, too!), Wolfgang’s provides a stellar dining experience. Its varied menu is good for the non-meaters, too, so everyone will be sorted. Choose from delicious steaks, including Porterhouse, Filet Mignon, and Prime NY Sirloin Steak, or go for the surf-n-turf and add a 3-lb Jumbo Lobster to the order! Our go-to order is the Porterhouse for two. Vegetarians can pick from the various salads and vegetable side dishes, and everyone should be sure to save room for the apple strudel, homemade cheesecake and other delicious desserts!
Sassy readers will receive a welcome drink when quoting the code “DRYAGED” when booking.

Going for a relaxed, romantic vibe? This spot is a Sai Kung favourite, offering a casual, contemporary feel and a lovely little outdoor area. With fairy lights, roses on the tables, and impeccable service, it’s worth checking out. We had a chance to try Chez Raymond out for ourselves and can fully vouch for the steaks. Top quality and cooked to perfection, the generous cut comes with fries (the sort that look like they were hand-cut from home-grown potatoes) and a crispy, fresh salad. We can’t forget to mention that it’s nothing less than wagyu beef. Plus, we have to give a shout out to the juicy scallop starter – it was delicious! As a French restaurant, you can be sure the waiters know their wines, so feel free to ask for recommendations. This is a great unpretentious spot to give you that something-special for a date night.

From the neon cow on the sign at the entrance, to the dessert trolley coming round just when you think you couldn’t eat another bite, La Vache! doesn’t disappoint! The experience is made even better as it offers all-you-can-eat chips, and it has the most delicious sauce to accompany your perfectly cooked steak. Wash it all down with a couple of glasses of red wine and you’re set for the night.

If you’re on the hunt for a real rib-eye, Gaucho‘s authentic Argentinian flavours are something to shout home about. Choose your preferred cut, marinade (red jalapeño chilli, please!) and sauce from an extensive menu, and choose to pair your meal with a little surf ‘n turf. Trust us, its gambas skewers with a churrasco dressing are the perfect accompaniment. Service here is impeccable, so when ordering your second portion of Fat Chips (you know you will), you won’t be waiting long.

Team Sassy had the pleasure of checking out this effortlessly chic spot a while back, and we’re still raving about the incredible food! The entire first floor focuses on dry-aged steak and seafood, so you can be sure it’s top quality. With options like a 220 oz T-Bone, a 1kg Porterhouse and even a Black Angus & Foie Gras burger, you’re sure to have a proper feast at this Quarry Bay establishment. In particular, the skirt steak is grilled to perfection and comes with a crispy tortilla, black beans and bacon. If you have space left, make sure to grab dessert here too!

With a firm belief that simple is best, Porterhouse offers quality meat ‘at the right price’. Aged to perfection and seasoned with just a pinch of salt and pepper before finishing in a charcoal oven, these melt-in-your-mouth cuts of steak are served with delish side dishes (truffle potato gratin? Yes please!). We’re huge fans of the Black Pepper & Honey Glazed Smoked Bacon!

Nestled in the heart of LKF, head to the BA Polo Club for the array of delicious Argentinian steaks, and stick around for the fab cocktails and cool vibe. Decked out in colonial club vibes, the restaurant is bought bang up to date with paint splashes on the wall, which transform the fine dining resto into a cool club once the lights dim later in the night. Along with choosing your own steak, you can even pick your weapon of choice here, as servers encourage you to choose your own knife before your meal begins. A fun twist which brings this classic steakhouse into the modern era.

We ended up at Craftsteak one evening after other plans fell through and we’re so glad we did! Known for its open-fire cooking, you can choose your cut from either grass or grain fed beef. We appreciate that the meat dishes come with one side, and you can even add shrimp, bone marrow, a fried egg, or herb butter to your steak. We went all out with the bone marrow and did not regret it! We loved everything we ordered and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing wine they suggested. It was the perfect complement to our meal and also well priced. We always look forward to returning.
