Hong Kong’s Noho is fast becoming the shopping destination for trendy tots. As well as the fab Petit Bazaar on Gough Street, just around the corner on Aberdeen Street are blooming lots of little boutiques filled with unique clothes for kids that are sure to break your ingrained H&M habit. The newest spot on the block is Little Mercerie, a light, airy white-washed shop selling gorgeous French-inspired togs in soft cottons and gorgeous floral prints. Not precious or prissy, these are clothes for kids who want to run, jump and get dirty — hurray!
I couldn’t resist snapping up a little shorts and vest set for my daughter in a chequered cotton trimmed with lace, as well as a little hairband (perfect for keeping her hair off her face in the Hong Kong heat). When I got the goodies home and got her into her new outfit I was thrilled… Voila, la petite française! Comfy, cool and chic, the perfect combination. For boys there are tees and adorable little trews galore. It’s the perfect destination to head to if you’re looking for something for a special occasion where you want them to look nice but still definitely kid-like rather than overly trussed up.
Little Mercerie sells clothes for kids from 6 months until 12 years old.
