Sassy Supports: Mother’s Choice Walkathon- Families Walking for Families

Make a difference for the children of Hong Kong by participating in this year’s Mother’s Choice Walkathon!

Every person needs a sense of family. Whether defined by blood or a common bond, family gives all of us a necessary sense of belonging, a support group, and a place to feel safe and loved. More than anyone, babies and children deserve to have that sense of family. They need a family environment to give them a sense of permanence and stability which will instill in them self-confidence and help to shape a strong, positive sense of who they are. Being a part of a family gives children a feeling that they are valued and loved. This is an important foundation for their growth and development and for their future.

Mother’s Choice is a grassroots non-profit organization that provides love and care for babies and children needing permanent homes, as well as for single girls and their family facing crisis pregnancies. On Sunday, the first of November, Mother’s Choice will hold its annual Walkathon held on a 4 kilometer stretch along picturesque Bowen Road. The route will start and end at Island School with a carnival full of food, games and entertainment at the finish line. Last year, over 850 participants walked for families and raised over $2.4 million HKD for this important cause in its biggest event of the year. This year, Mother’s Choice aims to raise $2.7 million to further restore, build and provide support to families in Hong Kong.

So let’s come together and walk for the love of family! Show your support and do what you can to give all children in Hong Kong the chance to love and be loved and grow up in a permanent, and stable family to call their own.

Registration Fee: General Admission (aged 4 and above): HK$150
Concessionary (aged 3 and under): Free

Where: Bowen Road

Walkathon
Leisure & child-friendly 4km scenic walk along Bowen Fitness trail. Starts & ends at Island School (20 Borrett Road, Mid-Levels) with three staggered starts at 9:00am, 10:00am, and 11:00am.

Carnival
Takes place at Island School (20 Borrett Road, Mid-Levels) from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Includes family-friendly performances, games, and food stalls.

Transportation
Event organiser will provide limited shuttle bus to take participants to Island School. Buses will depart from Admiralty Centre, Admiralty (outside Cafe de Coral) sharp at 7:30 AM, 8:45 AM, and 9:45 AM. No cars, including taxis, will be allowed to go up to Island School on the day of the Walkathon. All cars must drop off and turnaround at the roundabout outside Island School.
