Summary
Our parents and pupils tell us they choose Strathallan for the immense range of opportunities the School provides, the friendly and supportive atmosphere where everyone is made welcome, the healthy and active lifestyle inspired by the beautiful 153 campus and most importantly, the fact that there is something for everyone. Strathallan’s motto of providing Opportunities for All to Excel really is at the core of the School. Our pupils are diverse in their approach and their passions but every success is celebrated. Unsurprisingly this strong foundation produces excellent achievements and results academically, in sports and in the arts.
In sports we have an excellent reputation, not just in rugby, hockey and tennis but also in supporting pupils in individual sports as diverse as karate, clay pigeon shooting, skiing, swimming and equestrian. A former pupil who left only last year won two silvers in swimming in the Rio Olympics, another was the youngest person for fifty years to claim a rugby cap for Scotland, another is the British Ski slalom champion and the list goes on. In 2015/16 30 pupils represented Scotland in 15 sports, and 4 represented Great Britain.
Equally in music and the performing arts the pupils at Strathallan push boundaries. Our pipers fuse traditional and contemporary music and play at T in the Park, Scotland’s largest music festival every year; our Choral Singers are linked with historic Perth Cathedral and sing before the Queen at Crathie Kirk; every year pupils achieve the LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) Diploma which qualifies them to teach.
