Getting sweaty never looked so good with this range of sports clothing, yoga gear and activewear!
Whether you’re a yoga bunny sweating it out in a pre- or postnatal yoga or hot yoga class, swimming with the kids, or pounding the parks for some outdoor running highs, your choice of activewear can make or break your workout. And, in Hong Kong’s humidity, what you wear means everything to your comfort level. If you’re in gear that makes you sweaty before the class even starts, chances are you won’t be giving it your best effort. We’ve found some tried and tested gear that is breathable, comfortable and stylish enough to wear when you just want to hang around looking like you went to the gym.

Under Armour was an early player on the moisture-wicking scene with its legendary heat gear, which keeps you cool and dry, even in the Hong Kong heat. We’re big fans of its leggings and sports bras (particularly in the Vanish collection, which is super-silky, stretchy, and dries faster than ever without absorbing sweat) and also love its shorts, which actually have pockets (a rarity with women’s shorts, for some reason!).

Cotton On is the place to head to when you want seriously affordable activewear from sports bras, to crop tops, tanks, hoodies, and pants and tights. Nudge up the dollars and there’s the Cotton On Premium and COAR activewear ranges where the extra technology goes into compression and moisture-wicking fabrics – exactly what we need here in sweaty Honkers! There’s even a whole section dedicated to maternity activewear with tank tops, t-shirts and leggings that’ll sort out your growing bump.
Uniqlo is another spot we seek out when we just want the staple fitness gear at a good, no nonsense price. Simple seamless racerbacks, fancy cross bra camisoles, and comfy gym t-shirts are all on offer. Its AIRism fabric has dry and cool touch technology to wick away the sweat. Look for the AIRism leggings and the AIRism hoodie – perfect for post hot yoga chills. There’s also some Incredibly-Quick Drying kit (as worn by top athletes apparently) for the kids as well.

The Nike Pro range is super comfortable and stands up well to our hot and sticky weather conditions. The Nike Pro Combat compression shorts have survived two Sassy Mama pregnancies and always see us through the toughest spinning classes. Occasionally the crop tights come in really cool patterns, too.
